Simulation game on the Third Accra Agenda for Action, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

This simulation game has been prepared on the basis of the discussion held during the simulation of a roundtable which would take place during the Third High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Accra on next September. The exercise took place in the University Institute of European Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and its participants were the students of the Master in European Policies on International Cooperation for Development.
The two main general recommendations focused on the integration of horizontal issues such as gender and environment and the necessity of a higher level of coherence between external policies and development policies both of member states and the EC.
Moreover, other recommendations were raised, concerning the ODA lavels, the implementation strategies and the EC as a moderating body of all the Member States on development policies regarding the 3C.
The discussion started with an introduction by Gwénaëlle Corre (ECDPM). Each group then was given a chance to expose its views about the core elements they considerate should be taken into account when evaluating the progresses made on Aid Effectiveness since the Paris Declaration of 2005 and that should be included in the Accra Agenda for Action (AAA).
