Roundtables and workshops (both in Europe and in the South) form a crucial part of the consultation phase of the Whither EC Aid project. Together with our own research, the results of the workshops will feed into the final report on Whither EC Aid. The overall objective of the proposed workshops is to generate debates amongst small groups of interested stakeholders to contribute to reflections on the added value and effectiveness of EC aid. Specifically the workshops aim :
- To introduce the project and present the initial findings;
- To test these first findings to stimulate reactions and debate among the participants;
- To specifically discuss a few arising issues, determined in advance with the participants;
- To generate recommendations on how the quality of EC aid can be improved;
- To broaden the ownership of the process by asking participants to disseminate the discussion note and to invite different stakeholders to engage in the process;
Workshops will be organised in Brussels, in a number of European capitals and in a at least 3 countries in the South. Each workshop will last half a day, and will include around 10-15 participants. The initial discussion note will serve as a basis for the debates.The role of ECDPM and AAI will be to chair and facilitate the discussion as neutral brokers and to organise the workshop together with the organisation hosting the meeting.For more information, please contact weca@ecdpm.org. Les tables-rondes et ateliers (organisés à la fois en Europe et dans des pays en voie de développement) sont une partie cruciale de la phase de consultation du projet WECA. Avec notre propre recherche, les résultats de ces ateliers formeront la base principale du rapport final du projet. L’objectif principal de ces ateliers est de générer un débat en petits groupes d’acteurs différents mais mobilisés sur les questions d’efficacité de l’aide, afin de contribuer à la réflexion sur la valeur ajouté de l’aide de la CE.
Plus spécifiquement, les objectifs de ces ateliers sont:
- de présenter le projet et ses premiers résultats ;
- de les confronter aux points de vue des participants et de stimuler leurs réactions à travers un débat ;
- de discuter plus spécifiquement de certaines questions clés ou sujets relatifs à l’efficacité de l’aide de la CE et prédéterminés par les participants eux-mêmes ;
- de générer quelques recommandations pour améliorer l’efficacité de l’aide de la CE ;
- de contribuer à communiquer sur ce projet, à en disséminer les documents et à inviter ses propres réseaux à y participer ;
- de clarifier comment s’impliquer dans le projet.
Les ateliers sont organisés à Bruxelles, dans plusieurs capitales européennes et dans au moins 3 pays en voie de développement. Chaque atelier dure une demi-journée et accueille environ une quinzaine de participants. La Note de Discussion initiale sert de base au débat, facilité par ECDPM et Action et co-organisé avec un acteur local (organisation non étatiques ou gouvernement).
